German Language requirements

Lectures are usually conducted through the medium of German. A good knowledge of German is therefore essential. Each international student applicant must master the German language sufficiently well to be able to understand lectures and to be able to work with German language text books.

KatHO NRW recommends that all students should have a standard in German of DSH 2 or TestDAF, before starting their studies at KatHO NRW. Any student below this level will find it very difficult to study through German.

Once your application has been approved you will receive a letter confirming your acceptance, you need to take for the enrolment in the student registration office when you come to KatHO NRW to commence your studies.

If, for some reason, you are unable to accept your place at KatHO NRW please advise the International Office as soon as possible.

In order to register as an Exchange Student you should have the following documentation with you on arrival at the university:

  • Your acceptance letter from KatHO NRW
  • Proof of personal identity (passport or national identity card)
