ERASMUS sponsors internships for students in a host institution in another European country. Internships in European institutions / organisational, national diplomatic missions as well as organisations which administer EU programmes cannot be sponsored.
As a student of the KatHO NRW you can gain experience of working in an international environment and acquaint yourself with the requirements of an EU-wide employment market. In addition you can extend your key qualifications such as your communication skills and cooperativeness, openness and knowledge of other cultures and markets.
You can be sponsored for a compulsory internship of between three and twelve months. You receive a grant of € 280.00 - 300.00 on average per month for the costs of living. In addition you are provided with support preparing for your stay abroad. Your performances rendered abroad are recognised (e.g. entry in the diploma supplement, ECTS, EUROPASS).
31 countries currently participate in the ERASMUS programme: All the EU member states, Turkey, as well as the EFTA/EEA countries of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway.
The ERASMUS programme additionally offers students the option of applying for a preparatory ERASMUS Intensive Language Course (EILC) in support of their preparation for a stay abroad.
